Failure to use the Bully Pulpit

Teddy Roosevelt coined the phrase “bully pulpit” to describe the president’s ability to command the attention of the nation.  Even in this day of fractured media, when the President appears at a news conference or addresses the nation, attention is paid.

So why isn’t Biden holding press conferences or addressing the nation to praise the Republicans and Democrats who worked out a compromise immigration reform and explaining that proposed legislation?  Why isn’t he slamming Trump for standing in the way of the reform in order to create chaos at the border for political gain?  

If Biden is afraid that he will stumble, or appear uncertain, or be incoherent, then he better step down now.  Otherwise, use the damn bully pulpit and preach.
