Celebrate May Day

A huge labor demonstration took place in Chicago in 1886.  The slogan was “8 hours for work, 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for what we will.” May Day soon became an international holiday for workers.

In 1894 American capitalists decided they needed to provide an alternative, so they invented “Labor Day,” which takes place on the first weekend in September.  Nonetheless, around the world and in the hearts of radicals, May Day is still a day to recognize that crypto dealers, stock brokers, hedge fund operators, and currency manipulators are not the people who advance the interests of ordinary people.

People who do that are delivery drivers, plumbers, teachers, garbage collectors, and all the other workers of the world, who, if we keep the faith, will one day unite and kick some ass.
