Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has just won the presidential election in Brazil, beating the rightist (and bully) Flavio Bolsonaro., Lula supports democracy; Bolsonaro is an authoritarian would-be caudillo.
A series of right-wing candidate victories has come to an end. I’m thinking this is a harbinger. Of course, and true to form for right-wing candidates around the globe, Bolsonaro says the election was rigged. These guys need a new playbook.
