The young billionaire who developed “Tumblr” keeps bragging that he never got his high school degree. That isn’t such a great thing to be bragging about. The dude might be rich, but he can’t even spell. How do you even pronounce “Tumblr?’ He may be a billionaire, but I’m not all that impressed.
Roy you're missing the point on the spelling of Tumblr. It's target marketing at its finest. Tumblr is not targeted at the older population. It's geared towards early adopters of mobile technology which are mostly younger people. Many of that generation of consumers text messages/instant messages without vowels and using a shorthand for many phrases. To them, as the target market, Tumblr as it's spelled is something that they can more easily identify with and because of that it has made great inroads among the younger population.

ReplyDeleteMost people who do not have a college degree have something to prove. I have noticed this in the real world. One can find them saying things like "and I didn't even go to college".
ReplyDeleteIf you ever took the time to notice, most low end post high school programs promote the idea of "giving you the confidence to succeed ". I think that is a schools,s slogan. I always think to myself that they should be giving me the skills to succeed not the confidence!
