Why did we have to wait months for a budget deal? Wolf probably could have gotten this budget on day one. A rise in the sales tax, the most regressive of all state taxes. No firm commitment to keep state store revenues flowing into the state’s coffers. And worst of all, a victory for the frackers and their Republican lapdogs in the state legislature to ensure that Pennsylvania continue its dubious position as the only state in the union without a severance tax on natural gas it produces.
I am so disappointed in Wolf. Why oh why are the Democrats never able to hold fast to their commitments? Republicans have our number. Hold out long enough, and our side caves. I’m tired of it.
Let me get this straight. The people gave Wolf as mandate to tax the gas drillers. The GOP says NO. So what I see is that they will not be taxed. In turn the common people will see an increase in our sales taxes. More casino money into the treasury. We will be seeing an end to the $192 we see in property tax reduction. We all know that the school districts will not lower any property taxes. In the end everyone loses except our so called leaders, gas companies and the top 1 %.
ReplyDeleteIts no wonder that we are sick and tired of professional politicians. Voters just keep on electing these same corrupt ones and we have nothing but ourselves to blame.
I am so disappointed in Gov. Wolf. He had one thing to do. I think he will lose re-election. Corbett never recovered from his bad first year budget.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Pocono Record, Pennsylvania will have the second highest sales tax in the nation. Amazing and disgusting. I am so disappointed in Wolf (and the Republican legislators).
