"No Other Land"

I have not seen “No Other Land,” a documentary about what Israeli soldiers are doing on the West Bank to drive out Palestinians.  The film was made with two Israeli directors and two Palestinian directors, but it couldn’t find a distributor in the U.S. because the film was considered too controversial.

The title of the documentary comes from a Palestinian woman in the film who is forced out and asks where they are supposed to go.  She had no other home to go to.

Israel does not own the West Bank any more than Russia owns the Ukraine or the U.S. owns the Panama Canal.  It is simply a case of a bully taking land that does not belong to it.  The idea that Israel “owns” the West Bank because of some biblical writings doesn’t cut it.  I understand that the Trump administration is now willing to back the Israeli right-wing’s claim.

Perhaps if the film receives an Oscar for best documentary, it can find a distributor.  Maybe it can be circulated underground.  We’ve come to that point.
