Finally, something to celebrate. Openly gay men and women can now serve in the Marines, Air Force, Navy, Army, and Coast Guard. I don’t have anything to add, except that I am very happy. Every Senate Democrat voted yes. Kudos to Joe Liberman and to the Republicans who broke ranks with their bigoted colleagues. Among those bigoted colleagues was Senator McCain.
BLOG FOOD :Every Democrat except newly elected Senator Joe Manchin who had to attend a family christmas party. Now we need to get START and medical care for the first responders before the y go home.
ReplyDeleteI served in the Air Force in the 50's when there was no such thing about gays, etc. Although we had some that were different in the way they acted and talked. I guess that some were even friends of my at the time and really never knew anything different about them. I do not agree with that way of life. Its very similar to ones religion. Because I am Lutheran does not mean that other religions are bad. One can make a point about anything that is the opposite of our beliefs.
