Husbands and wives

Mitt Romney received a standing ovation from a group of evangelicals on Saturday when he said “marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman.”
His great grandfather, Miles Park Romney, by the way, moved to Mexico so he could have plural wives--five in all.  Sweet.
I’m not sure when the Romneys all moved back to the U.S.  I do hope they had their papers when they crossed the border.

  1. The Romneys, among other Mormons, fled to Mexico because the U.S. government was cracking down on the polygamists in Utah. Congress passed a bill making polygamy a felony and the LDS president told several families to go to Mexico to continue the practice. The church bought the land for colonization. Many of Romney's relatives still live there.

So I guess Mittens isn't the first Romney to take his riches out of the country so he doesn't have to part with them.
