Trying Trump the second time

It’s not good optics for the Democrats.  The question being asked makes some sense and gives Republican Senators cover.  Why go after Trump when he is no longer in office?  He’s down in Florida running nothing but a golf cart.

He will not be found guilty.  Very few Republicans in the U.S. Senate have much courage.  We should salute the ones who do.

The sad thing is that these clowns, idiots, and fanatics who broke into the Capitol, stole stuff, broke stuff, crapped on the floor, and killed a cop will go to jail.  The man who encouraged them, goaded them on, lied and said he’d be there with them–he will live in luxury, unpunished.

  1. On the surface I agree with you. However, I feel that a vote is needed so that voters know that their Senator is OK with insurrection. These Senators need to explain why they want to overthrow the government. I know that very few of them has the testicular fortitude to vote to impeach.

  2. During the years of the Mafia the Big boys used there hitmen to do the killing, etc. and they always walked away from any punishment's.
As to having a trial, I truly believe that it is appropriate to have one for accountability reasons. We do not need to have him hold any public office ever again. I believe that a president was set in 1876 when the Secretary of Defense was impeached after resigning.

  3. I don't think it's a waste of time. I want it on the record exactly what Trump did. I want videos shown of him egging the crowd on and them responding using his words. I want those videos of him and his dumb kids celebrating while the crowds gathered steam and headed toward the Capitol. And I want it on record who exactly is OK with this.

The Repubs are going with the process defense of it's unconstitutional to impeach someone who's not in office (it's not), and that he was exercising his first amendment rights (he was speaking as the president, not some schmo on the street). By not convicting him, they are giving him a big thumbs up. They're also going to be showing videos of Dems encouraging civil discourse, like Maxine Waters telling us to get in our legislator's face. Like that's an equivalent. They're going to point out what happened in the cities where Black Lives Matter marches lead to some destruction and chaos, blaming it on Democratic leaders, who all denounced those actions (some of which were carried out by white supremacists who were in the crowds so it would be blamed on BLM...it's on video). Whataboutism...they're good at that.

I hope the impeachment managers do a great job and expose his role in the insurrection.
