Vote early

16 states do not allow enough time for last-minute mail voting.  In a number of them (South Dakota, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Montana) you can request a ballot one day before the the election, but the ballot must be received by election day, which is ridiculous.

Pennsylvania is a state that allows at least three days for requesting them and three days for returning them, which is within the delivery time promised by the Post Office, but that is cutting it way too close.  If the ballot is not received by election day, it won’t count.

The moral of this story is:  request your mail-in ballot as early as possible, and return it as early as possible.  Don’t wait.  Don’t take a chance.

  2. And evidently based on what Trump said about North Carolina, at least twice.
