Ok, maybe that’s overstating it a bit, but think back to the recent past. The President was criticized for his threats to take military action against Syria (by me included), seen as indecisive, and hammered by both conservatives and liberals for ineptness in foreign policy.
Now we have Syria admitting it has chemical weapons and expressing a willingness to turn them over to international authorities. We have Iran stating that it is willing to work with international agencies to insure its nuclear program is used for peaceful purposes. We have Russia pressuring Assad to cooperate with international inspectors.
I am fully aware that all of this could go off the tracks, but right now President Obama, with his nuanced approach to foreign policy, is looking rather impressive.
We need improved economic policy at home!
